SLING BY CLAIRO
This album is about the transition from youth to a maternal calling. I can't put into words what this album means to me, but simply put it is beautifully tragic. Clairo's quiet voice and melodies help carry meaningful messages throughout songs to articulate complicated feelings. It feels like a sister album to Phoebe Bridgers' Stranger in the Alps album. If you wanna feel sad about growing older, this is the album for you!
GOOD RIDDANCE BY GRACIE ABRAMS
Good Riddance is the perfect embodiment of never quite moving on from that one person. I love this album because of its honesty throughout the project. Its sheer honesty emphasizes how sometimes we as humans have bad moments that force people we love to leave. Simply put, this album is the perfect thing for people who have never moved on from anything in their life.
EVERMORE BY TAYLOR SWIFT
Every song on this album is a 10/10. The storytelling, scene-setting, and lyrics combined together create the most perfect combo for this album. The imagery created within the songs allows for listeners to feel that they are in the story and I just think that is so brilliant. If you love sad stories this is the album for you!
FOLKLORE BY TAYLOR SWIFT
Similar to evermore, this album is built on storytelling. One of my favorite themes present in this album is the stark difference in emotional intelligence between boys and girls. While it may not be the most present theme, it is represented in the main relationship present in the albums entirety. So if you love dwelling on past decisions this is perfect for you!
